Depot Beach is a magnet for all who love the south coast. Walking, birding, surfing, fishing, beachcombing, rockpool rambling, or lying in front of the fire with a good book and a glass of wine: Depot has it all.
Dharraani (the Yuin word for spotted gum is) was extended and renovated in 2020 to provide a relaxed stay with modern conveniences while retaining the feel of a classic 60s beach home.
Set overlooking Little Cove, deep in the heart of Murramurang National Park, there are spacious communal living areas, with extended living and outdoor dining areas at both the front and back. Extensive native gardens have been planted to encourage birds who are frequent visitors to the bird bath which can be observed from the front verandah.
The house caters for couples and families, including guests who are mobility impaired, with access to the house via a ramp adjacent to the car space.
There are three bedrooms, two with queen size beds and the third with a king single. The third bedroom is a sleepout with the entrance outside the back door.
All rooms have ceiling fans, with the exception of the third bedroom, which has a column fan for summer and dimplex heater to keep it cozy in winter.
The chef’s kitchen is a particular delight and makes entertaining a breeze. There is an induction stove top, multifunction oven, microwave, coffee machine, sodastream and dishwasher. The is ample crockery, cutlery and glassware.
The generous sized wood stove, along with plenty of wood, keeps the house warm and inviting on cold winter nights. There are books a plenty for all types of readers and stacks of board games for all ages.
