About this listing
The Arthouse at Mossy
Don’t just have a great holiday – have an artistic escape!
Nestled beneath the tall trees of Mossy Point is a gallery like no other – a world of art you can live in.
On an elevated, secluded hillock, The Arthouse is the perfect antidote for a stressful life.
Famous Australian artists wait to greet you inside this hidden leafy retreat – Streeton, Olsen, Von Guerard, Boyd, Williams, Nolan, Lindsay, Namatjira … and many more Masters from around the globe are all eager to say hello!
Art is literally everywhere you look.
Mossy Point has a wonderful bohemian heritage going back decades. So too does The Arthouse.
It all begins with the large, sunny open-air deck that looks out to greenery on three sides where you can relax on a daybed, a beanbag or enjoy a tipple or two amongst the fairy lights. Alternatively, you can wander out to the tropical front garden or perhaps unwind with a book under an umbrella in the hidden palm terrace out the back. It doesn’t matter where you go - birdsong will fill the fresh, leafy air.
Inside, enjoy a mid-century dining experience while famous artists look on, then chill out on the comfy lounges in the living area.
A generous kitchen with upmarket appliances makes cooking a breeze – with Tolix stools for the wine-buffs who inevitably turn up to provide emotional support for the chefs.
A large funky tiled bathroom with an ample bath greets you down the Jarrah-wood hall before you peek into ‘River’, ‘Surfside’ and ‘Sunrise’ – three bedrooms filled with amazing artworks. ‘Pacific’, the largest room, has cathedral ceilings and its own ensuite as well as really striking art pieces. You haven’t stayed anywhere like this before!
The Arthouse evokes a coastal 1960s chic that will drift you back to yesteryear, when things were a whole lot cooler and life a whole lot less hurried.
The location is great too! Everything is easy. Stroll to the famous Mossy Café for breakfast or watch the stingrays at The Boatshed with a coffee (before kayaking along Tomaga River), paddle about in Candlagan Creek, fossick around Broulee Island, or head for a surf at North Broulee beach before having a craft beer at Broulee Brewhouse. IGA Tomakin is 3 mins drive away for food and refreshments, Mogo and Moruya (the renowned Saturday country markets!) are only 10 mins away and Batemans Bay is only 10 minutes more. An abundance of day trips are possible – oysters and other fabulous local produce in Tuross, Narooma and Batemans Bay, cavorting in Jervis Bay, long lunches in coastal wineries … pore over The Arthouse Local Restaurant & Natural Wonders Menu when you arrive.
Treat yourself! Come and have a holiday with a difference at The Arthouse!
